I just found this 47 minute documentary - Tell Them Anything You Want: A Portrait of Maurice Sendak - on children's author and artist Maurice Sendak this week and want to recommend. It was originally made for HBO (the logo is at front) and it was directed by young (52 years old now) director Spike Jonze (real name Adam Spiegel). It is just Sendak talking with Jonze in his house over a number of sessions. Jonze asks the right questions and edits the answers so that Sendak is always wearing a different shirt.

I have no children and his books (mostly "Where The Wild Things Are") came out when I was grown. So I knew his name ans book title. But not much more. I learned a lot and found him engaging. I won't reveal any more but thank Chaiflicks for offering it. Be aware there is salty language if you plan to watch with young children,.

The only thin "Jewish" about the film is Sendak and Jonze are Jewish. They share other traits too but I'll leave you to discover those.
