Eat, Eat | The Braid
5m 1s
Dr. Ron Wolfson, author and educator, looks back lovingly on his bubbe’s culinary skills, which filled him with ecstasy. As a boy, his huge appetite sent him right to the “husky” section of his local department store. As an adult he explores the history of Jewish face-stuffing and finds its origins in Russia poverty, which then took root again in America. Several years later and morbidly obese, he creates an innovative diet, giving up certain Jewish foods—and then wonders whether this new diet deprives him of his Jewish identity.
