Notorious Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann was hanged in Israel's first and only execution. Shalom Nagar, a religious Jewish ritual slaughterer and street philosopher who believes in charity, was chosen to be the hangman. This film reveals a complex portrait of a character who repeatedly finds himself at the cusp of historical events, yet maintains his characteristic faith and humor.
