Shortly after Israel's historic victory in the Six Day War of 1967, young author Amos Oz embarks on a peculiar mission: documenting what those soldiers who returned from battle felt about their role in the country's decisive victory.

While the nation brimmed with relief, joy and pride, many of those who fought the war had something different to say. In these intensely candid interviews, the young soldiers fresh from the battle reveal their fears, their feelings about the enemy and their doubts about what had unfolded during the swift campaign. What results is a historic document, censored for decades by the Israeli government and only recently becoming publicly available.
